Mrs. Tuula Pratt

My life with the Samoyed began in 1967 when our family purchased an adorable puppy who
grew up to be our beloved family pet for 11 years. That dog inspired me to become interested in
the breed, and many years later to start showing and eventually in 1986 also breeding Samoyeds
under the Humoresque prefix. International cooperation in the breeding resulted in a number of
champions, Top Samoyeds and three World Winners both in Finland and abroad. It also
connected me with breed enthusiasts in several other countries.
My judging career started in 1990. Since then I have had the privilege of judging Samoyeds in
different parts of the world. Nowadays I judge breeds from the FCI groups 1, 5 and 8. My other
involvement with dog shows is educating judges not only in Samoyeds but also in Alaskan
Malamutes, Siberian Huskies and Lapponian Herding Dogs. Outside Samoyeds one of the
highlights in my judging career was to judge Siberian Huskies at the World Show in 2014.
I have given talks at World Samoyed Meetings in Slovakia in 2009, in the UK in 2012, in
Estonia in 2019 and also at the first Euro Samoyed Show in Czech Republic in 2017.
It will be an honor to be part of the coming Euro Samoyed Show in Slovenia. Thank you for the
invitation. I am looking forward to meeting you all and enjoying a memorable event with our
beloved Samoyeds.
